Thats going to be a big loss for Tech. Regardless of his actions in this instance Leech has been a great coach and has made Tech a much more attractive proposition for any player.

What now for Leech though? He's got to be one of the best coaches on the street now but will colleges be willing to hire him and take the inevitable negative feedback from parents of recruits. I wouldnt be suprised to see him spend a year as an offensive coordinator and then take on a head coaching job when everything calms down.

If the stories about Leech are true, it may be a long time before he sees the gridiron again (if ever)? But if they are greatly exaggerated by sports casters dog piling on top of him, then he may emerge at a later date in a lesser position like frostie500 predicts? Maybe NFL rather than college ball?

He'll get a college gig if he wants one, the results demand it. NFL offensive coordinator might appeal though.

Theres so much going on with this whole thing that its hard to tell fact from fiction but personally the more i read the more im starting to side with Leach. He had a very rough relationship with the administration at Texas Tech highlighted by last years drawn out contract negotiations. It would not surprise me if they had used this situation to get rid of him and get out of paying him.

Ive read many damning reports on the kid in question, Adam James, from many of his teammates and position coaches. They have described him as lazy, unmotivated and having an enormous sense of entitlement due to the status of his father former SMU running back and ESPN analyst Craig James. Leach said Craig James was constantly calling coaches asking why his son wasn't getting more playing time and generally being a pain.

As for the allegations about James being confined in a shed here is an alternative account of what happened.

To me it seems like a lazy, spoiled kid was angry about his playing time used his fathers influence to throw his coach under the bus. The university then used the incident to get rid of someone they didn't like.

As for what happens to Leach, its hard to say until after this matter is settled. I dont see him getting any type of high profile college job unless he can clear his name. I dont know that the NFL will welcome him with open arms either considering how Steve Spurrier's wide open college offense struggled with the Redskins.
