    Hi there

My girlfriend of almost one year was supposed to have her period on Saturday but as of yet it hasnt come. She was complaining of mild cramps but thats all. She's on the pill and takes it religiously (her phone reminds her at 9pm every evening).

I freaked out a bit (not at her) when she told me, starting to panic that she was pregnant, but thinking back, her periods over the past 2-3 months have been less regular than usual. she got one 5 days early, then another one day period 10 days early followed by a proper period, so I'm wondering is it something up with her pill perhaps? Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks

IF she's very worried she should see her GP.
The pill is 'supposed' to regulate your period so if it's not doing that then she needs to go back / possibly change the one she's on - but only her doc can tell her that.

As you said if she takes it all the time and she's had odd periods the last while, this could be just the same. Is the pill the only precaution you two take?

Yeah I guess seeing her GP is the best way to go. We dont use other contraception as she seems to be mildly allergic to condoms, including latex and non latex ones, and also they cause me some trouble as well if you follow my drift. She hasnt been unwell over the past few days, she's been kind of fluey, so I guess that could be a contributing factor as well.

If this turns out to be a false alarm which hopefully it will, we will need to re-discuss the second contraceptive issue.

    Thanks

In general, the pill does keep your periods very regular. If she is experiencing irregularity, then she should consider a visit to her GP.

Well, she took a pregnancy test and it showed negative, so I guess that answers that question. She will wait another week and if her period doesnt show up she'll go to the doc. Thx for your replies :)
