I just went to Dunnes to buy a bag of ice for making cocktails. When I read the back of the bag - - it seems it is imported from Scotland. What, can they not make ice in this country or something??

it'd be Scottish water not where the freezer's from that'd make it Scottish ice.

Don't worry if its a little past the expiry date. Just immerse in boiling water for a few minutes.

Saw on a bag of Ice in Centra once: "Ice - make your drink dance!"

Since when do they need stupid marketing slogans for ice?

'Ice - make your drink cold!' would surely be all they need to say.

Did your bag of Scotch Ice have a slogan OP?

Actually maybe Scottish Ice is imported solely for the use in Scotch. Are you drinking whiskey?

How do they transport the stuff and ensure it doesn't melt?

I'm making mojitos. There was no slogan on the bag but it did say that the ice factory is totally powered by wind turbines which has to be good.

Just get the ingredients from Scotland - manufacturing is done over here.

In fact, they are thinking of putting a pipeline under the Irish Sea to allow us to get Scottish water "on-tap". Then we will all be able to make our own Scottish ice

Go to local pub with a bag.

    Ask for ice.

    Leave with free ice.
