    hi,
I'm going to buy a road bike and have been reading advice on this forum. What Bike shops have the best reductions in Dublin/surrounding area?

Most bike sales are usually in late Autumn when next year model bikes are released.

I haven't seen too many sales on bikes in the Christmas sales ... unless someone is trying to offload extremely large or small sizes.

Some places do have sales on components ... I know Cycleways have one going on since early December. Might try them to see if they have one on bikes too.

Jan is always a slow month for bike shops for obvious reasons, there may not be sales as such but you could have alot more haggling room when its after their peak christmas period and they want to make a sale :)

If you are happy to go mail-order CRC have some decent discounts at present (it's their 25th anniversary sale). A further advantage is they charge UK VAT, which is currently 15% (compared to 21.5% in Ireland) - however it goes up to 17.5% (and the Irish rate drops to 21%) on 1 January

Wiggle have a few good offers.

I may have said it before but also worth considering is the £899 or £999 Planet X. The £899 is free build and shipping, the £999 is better spec but £100 build £50 shipping. Planet X are basically like a sale all the time they are such good value.
