Does anyone have the heads up on whether aerlingus will be having a January Sale? Looking to buy tickets to NY. Or can anyone remember if they had a sale last jan?

What a disappointing sale. Almost every route I've looked at is not on sale or else it is on sale but the prices are not much different to what you'd get at any other time of year.

AerLingus are having a sale now until 17th January 2010. US costs 189 euro one way.[/B][/I]

So, I'm trying to book a flight for Dublin to New York from €189.00 one way and following their terms and conditions, and the prices I'm getting are E334. whats going on?

Aer Lingus sales are never worth looking at. If you are going to America try all the other carriers as they are generally cheaper no matter what sale there is.

Fares are each way when purchased as part of a return trip
To achieve this book a return flight, choose the cheapest outbound at €209 and the cheapest inbound at €169 which equates to €378 = €189 each way.

Glad to see the airlines making it nice and easy for the consumer

Ahh I see. I must have missed the whole return trip part.
Thats pretty crap for me as I'm not coming back. It would be cheaper to book a return flight (and not return) than booking a one-way flight.

Last year I know 2 people in my office that got to NY for €500 return for 2! The €189 each way is pretty crap TBH and I would hold out - if you want to take the chance. Other option is to look at another direct airline such as Delta etc.

Not sure if you will get same deal this year but I would definitely expect the €189 to get cheaper. You only have to look at their load factors for transatlantic at present - better have a €100 bum in the seat than none at all!

If I got 2 for €500 return later in Jan/Feb then I would be very tempted:D

last year i booked the last day of the sale and the next day my flight was 100 euro cheaper...going to same placethis year so have been checking flights....320 euro return....until i checked today nearly 800 euro :mad:
are they putting the price up so they can reduce in a few weeks so people think they are getting a bargin
