i havent but was recently talking to someone who says is great....and easy to do.

you can get stuff to put into the washing machine with it.

I've used Nikwax tech wash and found it very good, it acts as a cleaner and restores the waterproof capabilities of the garment.
They also do a spray, can't remember if I got it in Milletts or the Great Outdoors but any of those type of stores that stock gore-tex clothing should have it.

If your jacket is Goretex though I wonder will the breathability still work after a coating of wax?

It doesn't contain wax it's just a brand name.

If your clothing is clean and you just want to restore its properties then another product is Nikwax TX direct, both are for goretex, sympatex and permatex material.

+1 on NikWax, I use it on my GG GoreTex (its recommended by GoreTex apparently)
Also, Bike and Bicycle shops do it, I got mine in Bike World on the long mile road. The also do the cleansers and de-greasers.

How often do you treat the GG gear with the NikWax?

I know this isn't a great help to the quetion asked but Ij ust give the collar and cuffs a good scrub of soapy water every once in a while and give 'em an air on the line regularly

not a fan of raingear in the wash, but never did hear of that stuff either,

give us a report back on how it goes

I was the gear once it gets very dirty (nearly every bloody week at this stage!)

A spin in the tumble dryer helps to restore the repellent coating also.

NikWax it maybe every 5-10 washes? Never had it leak yet so happy enough.
Gear is nearly 2 years old now.
