help with suit

Well, if you're going to a debs, I'd say go for a proper dinner jacket (tux) rather than just a suit/waistcoat.

You'll be better off renting than buying to be honest, unless you've quite a few black tie events coming up...

If you're determined to stand out and have the legs for it, then go for a kilt - I wore one to a debs before and it went down a treat, it looked great and got plenty of attention. It works out the same as renting a dinner jacket too, if you go to Black Tie, etc.

If you're not game for the kilt, then get the dinner jacket in a midnight blue, find out what colour your dates dress is, and get a matching bow tie (Will be even easier if she's getting her dress made for her), get some decent cuff-links and some good classy shoes.

i go to a black tie event about 6 times a yr evry year.
im still keen on this suit

ifyoy look at the pic carefully you will notice that its not a normal waistcoat
its kinda like a sleeveless suit

in our debs were allowed to wear anything as far as it has a suit feature in it eg suit and jeans or waist coat t shirt and jeans etc

    thanks for info

Id say go for the works, get the tux and a waistcoat too.

Im afraid to say you certainly wont be the only one there with one, they are 25e in Blacktie if I recall correctly. Many people get them as after the initial photos and such, the jacket is a bit too heavy for dancing et el.

If you want something thats going to make you stand out, Id advise ordering on the internet or getting a suit tailored for you. The lads usually get the same clothes from the same shops, so to stand out you'll need little more than a waistcoat.

If you really want to stand out, perhaps the kilt, or wear a matching cocktail dress with yout date. :P

Both of them are just waistcoats, not a jacket at the end of the day - Not a sleeveless suit ;)

Well if you're going to 6 black tie events a year, it would be worth getting your own dinner jacket, but get a proper one, rather than a gimmick of a one - While that might be grand for your debs, it mightn't go down so well at the other 5 events. Neither of what you've posted could be considered a full suit without a jacket.

If you're going to buy your own, you may aswell spend a fair bit on it, don't cheap out.

As Fajitas says, they are waistcoats with lapels and are being worn without the jacket over the top. I just had one made. :)
If you are determined to look for something to 'stand out' then perhaps you'd consider Stacy Addams.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.
