A camera for closeup shots

    Hi

    I have a lot of watches and I might try and sell some off so I need a camera to take closeup detailed pictures. I tried a bog standard digital camera but it was not possible to take good pictures, I couldn't get it to focus,
    So i'm wondering what would be the cheapest camera I could buy to take these kinds of pictures, I wouldn't be using it for anything else.

    Tell me this, does your digital camera have a macro mode (the symbol is of a flower) and did you use it?
    If it has and you havent used it I would say give that a go first. Also a good trick is to use a tripod and the cameras timer to help reduce the chances of you moving the camera while taking the photo to insure a nice sharp picture.

    yes it has the flower, haven't tried it thx for the help I'll give it a go.

    You don't necessarily need to use a camera if you have a scanner - just put the watch flat on the glass and balance the lid or white/coloured paper on top. Should get fairly good detail.
