Numerous issues with UPC both analogue and digital over the Christmas period:

BBC 1 analogue picture and sound break up (Sat Evening partuculary bad)
Channel 4 analogue picture and sound break up (constant)
E4 analogue and digital - sound dropping and picture break up

The channel 4 issue has been ongoing since late November.. is this unique to the Dublin service or is happening on other relays?

No such issues in Dublin 8.

You're far from the only person to do it, but it's a bad idea to assume a problem that affects you affects the entirety of your region (yes region, because Dublin isn't legally a single county). UPC's network isn't really divided up like that.

Whatever about stuff like internet connection issues, the only thing you can really do about TV problems is call them (except maybe where they moved the frequency and you didn't know, then obviously someone here might advise you).

Fair enough but would the source not be the same ? ie one receiver for the retransmission of Channel 4 on the Dublin network ?

I've had the same analogue issues, especially on E4 and I'm in Dublin city centre. It only started to happen when the C4, E4 and Discovery channels were moved in early December. The E4 source seems to be different - during the move when the old and new channel positions were both broadcasting there was a noticeable lag between the version of E4 being shown in the new UHF position and the original version.

My analogue has always been dire ditto anyone I know in the area. I've tried for years to get them to fix it but no joy. Digital is fine.

I'm in the Ballsbridge area and I was getting the same problems, picture freezing channel resetting etc. for most of the holiday period.
I had Sky Satellite for 3 years and never once did I have a picture freeze on any channel.
    UPC, this is a joke.

I think its fed from one source in Dublin, then its amplified in different areas... DTV is fixable basic tv is a pain in the whole..., try retuning your TV, i had to because the upgaded cable was a diff frequency!
