Hi All , hope everyone had a merry christmas and are looking forward to the new year.
Out of curiosity can anyone tell me what the definition of a pistol grip stock is, i know what they are and what they look like and that if you have one it is then a restricted firearm but under the new garda rules how exactely do they describe them , .regards Valhalla18

There is no description given in the guidelines, Best guess would be an unsupported grip that is prominent from the stock.
BUT your guess is as good as mine, seeing as there is no description.

Actually looking at the guidelines, there is no mention that I can see of rifles with pistol grips only shotguns?

Yep, shotguns with pistol grips are super-mega-dangerous and rifles with pistol grips are perfectly fine. :(
