thats right, Steven Seagal deputy sherif
I think more people should know about this awesomeness

Ive watched the first 2 episodes, theres some ott video editing but it seems real, he was a really slow southern accent and sweats alot

what famous Irish person would you like to have on the force?

Liam Neeson or Colm Meaney would make great guards

Brendan Gleeson could clean up the boardwalks, maybe honory Irish man Daniel Day Lewis could walk the streets of Dublin and rid them of immigrant beggar scum!

I'd like to see Brian Cowen on the force.

Seeing him trying to chase down someone would possibly be the greatest thing ever.

actually not really, he turns 70 in 2010. seagal is higher ranked in martial arts and more of a badass, he just doesnt (secretly) make up a fake persona for himself!

did you see him in the onion movie?

    Nope .. :)

Was looking for the clip from The Friday Night Project where he says his dog saved him from a fire by running into his bedroom and barking () "The House Is On Fire" at him :D

Here's a different clip from that show though:

The wrestler The Great Khalid was a cop in India. Crime rate must have been low.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I'd like to see a cop show where Brendan O'Connor goes out on the streets of Dublin. It'd be fun to see him try to deal with the locals without getting his ass kicked every night. :)

LaToya Jackson is also a cop in real life.

    She is!

    I'm serious.

Okay then, I'm making it up

No one ever listens to a f**king word I say on here.

I thought this sounded entertaining when I heard about it a few months back, watched an episode and it was like a sh1t version of cops.

That show is ammasing. I've watched 5 episodes of it now and he's vanity knows no bounds.

It makes it seem all the more pathetic now because he's a fat lazy bastard and even has a wobble when he walks, all the guys on it are fast bastards. I've noticed his busts always go the same way, he uses his ninja skills to spot a criminal on the street make a subtle movement to give away his criminality they chase begins next thing you know Stevens standing over the bad guy and they've found a gun. It's unlikely either him or any of his crew could ever chase down and catch the guys in the show. It's probably those other police cars hidden discretely in the background.

    I agree. Its so stupid.

Its basically Steven Stegal shoving his face and opinion into every scene. In the first episode you see him involved in a high speed chase. He is the passenger and keeps telling the driver to move lanes. Finally the driver snaps and tells Steven to stop telling him how to drive.

When the car they're chasing finally gets boxed in, his car is last on the scene but he is the one on camera putting the handcuffed suspect into the marked police car. This wasn't before there was 5-6 cops on the guy pinning the suspect down then tazering him.

I was wondering why they tazered the suspect, considering there is at least 8 cops circled around the guy and 5-6 were pinning him down.

of course its retarded, thats what makes it so good!

when he's in the car and it goes to slow motion and he's spotting the body movement of pedestrians on the sidewalks it reminded me of training day when denzel washington gives ethan hawke pcp while theyre driving around the streets

Actually that is not true Segal is not ranked higher in the Martial Arts than Chuck Norris

Segal is a 7th dan in the art of Aikedo

Norris has practised many martials arts including Karate which he has a 5th dan in,Tangsoodoo a style similar to taekwondo which he has an 8th dan in and he also also trained with the gracies in BJJ brazillian jujitsu. He also is 7 time world champion in full contact karate, segal had never fought professionally

    LOL!

    Yeah i forgot that.

"The turn of a head, the tapping of a foot... these are signs blah blah blah blah". These are signs of mundane human movement :D

He really is the Zen Master :pac:

seagals black belt rating is much harder to achieve than chucks nearest equivalent

it would be a good fight but never gonna happen

Wasn't Steven Seagal elevated to the level of a God on earth by his martial art (and no i'm not joking)?

in all fairness tho thats the producer and directors fault for hamming it up, he is talented in what he does but maybe his role in law enforcement is slightly exaggerated? lol

Im sure word gets around real quick in a ghetto neighbourhood that steven seagal is a local sherif, but many people are surprised to see him on patrol

"get um, get um, where he at?" apparently he only lives in the south 2 months a year but has a strong accent

no, he was pronounced as a reincarnated zen master or something by the dalai lama

he believes we are all god, part of the same energy. all equal

he is a strange man but all we can know about his is youtube videos and rumors, he is highly respected in his martial art

Seagal has aslo trained in JuJitsu thou don't ask me what style or to what level.

I'm be inclinded to agree - not too many 7th dan aikidoka around. I once saw a middle aged 5thdan Aikido blackbelt - fat, grey middle aged bloke - I've never seen anyone move like the guy - he was about 5 moves ahead of everyone else. Word is Seagal has shown up at Aikido dojo's in France and fought with whoever wants to fight him and just didn't loose

yes, i heard from 2 people who had worked with him that seagal would lay a challenge for anyone to take him on in anyway, he offered cash too

this was over 10yrs ago before he got bloated. not sure but perhaps he's the only westerner with his rank. his martial art enables defence against many attackers, the tests for his multiple Dan levels would be extremely hard, multiple trained attackers coming at you head on, not just thugs/bums on the street or drunks in bars.

Didn't Seagal have some bother with some mafia guys a while back? ( in real life)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,756 ✭✭✭InkSlinger67

have you met him in real life?

No but its well known that he is a perv. There was a 'scandal' a good few years ago about him making actresses auditioning for parts in his movie to strip down to the nip and dance in front of him.

I use inverted commas around the word scandal but what would you expect from a guy who thinks a greasy pony tail is cool!

    Niiiiice!!

Of course the other problem with this argument is that most disciplines of Aikido apart from Tomiki Aikido(sometimes called sport Aikido) don't hold competitions as its considered contrary to the philosophy of the art.

Have to say thou - I'd be very curious to see how top level Aikidoka would fare against top level Gracie Jujitsu practitoners. That would be interesting.

interesting read, he is definitely a complex character, but how much of that article is true? Its a pretty bizzare tale. I think anyone would be scared of the mafia, you cant dodge a tommy gun! If theres a hit on you a black belt dont matter, aint nothin but a thang, thats for sure

Everyone famous person can get be an honorary police officer in America. Latoya Jackson, Elvis, Jim Carey ... The list goes on.

Seagal is such an egomaniac its funny watching that show. I wonder does he know that people watch it to get a laugh, rather than to go "Oh, wow, look how cool Seagal is."
