Superhero costumes have to come with a disclaimer telling people that they don't actually get super powers by wearing them.

How the fuck did they let someone on a plane with firecrackers?

I mean, what next, they'll be letting people on with liquids ?

They made the poor fookers get a taxi?... Jahsus.

clearly they should have drove them home, tucked them up in bed and told them a nice little story to help them drop off. Before getting back to their own feckin homes for the kids getting up for christmas. what were they thinking?

The new security measures the yanks are using are following a Black Adder motif, it goes like this:
Security: Are you a German spy.... I mean have you got any firearms/explosives on your person
    Person: No.
Security: All right go on through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,754 ✭✭✭✭Princess Consuela Bananahammock

Lets not forget about the GAA player in New York:

    "Are you carrying any bombs?"
"Ah, yeah - but it's just a little one...."

Cue twelve hours of detention and one cavity search...

Blame the Dutch, not the yanks - the flight set-off from Amsterdam

An incident on a transatlantic airliner arriving in the US city of Detroit may have been an attempted attack, American media reports say.
An official said the incident, in which firecrackers were initially said to have been set off, had been an attempt by a passenger to blow up the plane.

Panic ensued aboard the Airbus 330, which had flown from the Netherlands, and several people were slightly hurt.

The White House says President Barack Obama is monitoring the situation

The White House says an incident involving a small explosion on an airliner was an attempted act of terrorism.
A U.S. intelligence official said the passenger who ignited a "powdery substance" on the Delta Airlines flight was trying to blow up the plane.

The flight was arriving at Detroit's Metropolitan Airport when the incident took place.

The suspect, who suffered third-degree burns, reportedly told federal investigators that he was directed by al Qaeda.

A U.S. intelligence official said the explosive device was a mix of powder and liquid. It failed when the passenger tried to detonate it.

Representative Peter King, who sits on the House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee, said the device was "fairly sophisticated," and the suspect was a 23-year-old Nigerian man.

The White House says President Obama, who is on holiday in Hawaii, is "actively monitoring" the situation.

Obama spoke by conference call with national security advisers, and then "instructed that all appropriate measures be taken to increase security for air travel," White House spokesman Bill Burton said.

Delta spokeswoman Susan Elliott said the suspect was subdued immediately, and two passengers were injured in the small explosion.

Delta Flight 253 was carrying 278 passengers from Amsterdam.

With a number of fat gassy Americans in my family (especially after Christmas dinner) I can fully confirm this. All this guy succeeded in doing was make everyone's already hellish post-Christmas travel even worse with heightened security.

If the plane goes over 50 miles per hour the garden firework will activate if the plane then goes under 50 miles per hour it will detonate...

    What are you gonna do?

Pop quiz, hotshot. There's a bomb on a bus. Once the bus goes 50 miles an hour, the bomb is armed. If it drops below 50, it blows up. What do you do? What do you do?

    There, much better.

it wont blow up till its back on the runway, cos the plane will be going a lot faster than 50MPH in the air. So the blackcat will explode, might blow a hole in the side of it or something, but it'll be OK, They can move the passengers to the other end of the plane.
    What are you gonna do?

I'd say just move everyone and land as normal. Should work out OK tbh
