I'm starting a new job in January, new apartment and all that jazz.

Am trying to create a budget for myself and am trying to make sure I don't miss out on stuff, so what sort of things do you all have as outgoings every week/month?

    Things like:

    - Rent
    - Food
    - Petrol
    - Broadband
    - TV Subscription
    - ???

Well, after Rent, ESB, Gas and Food. Everything else is just extra really.

    So you have;
    Broadband
    Petrol,
    Rent + Bills
    TV,
Clothing (Buy a new item each week maybe?)
    Food,
    Savings,
    Social money.

    That's about it I think.

Have Savings, Always have savings!!! Just in case!!

    Credit, don't forget credit!

Any kind of transport, bus, train, luas, petrol, etc? It all adds up!

    Loan/credit card repayments?

Also - always overestimate when doing your budget. I've learned that the hard way! :o

Since petrol was mentioned, I'm guessing car tax and innsurance have been implied.

Not being in Ireland I have no idea if you have to pay other taxes, i.e. I got a bill lately from my local city hall to pay for the honour of living in the city.

Speaking of taxes, if paying PAYE, does it get adjusted up or down at the end of the year?

Someone else has pointed out rent + bills. make sure you know what's included in the rent because other than basic rent, there will be gas, electricity, water, (oil heating or open fire) and possibly insurance.
