I'm planning on heading to Tokyo in April and was wondering where to stay?

The main areas I'll be spending most of my time are Shinjuku, Chiyoda and Shibuya. I was looking at accomadation in Ueno as it's consdierable cheaper. Is this too far away though?

    Thanks.

Ueno is the other side of the city to Shinjuku/Shibuya, but I think there's a direct train line between the two.

You can probably find a cheap business hotel right in Shinjuku though.

    Hi,

If your looking for a budget place to stay check out the below. I stayed there myself last year and its highly recommend. There's a subway station close by so you'd be in downtown in no time.

I stayed in the Oak Hotel in Ueno. Just one stop down from Ueno station itself (And about 7 min walk from Ueno station. Handy if you are getting the Skyliner from Narita). TBH the subway system is so regular and fast that it doesn't really matter where you stay. As far as I can recall it was only about 30 mins or so on the subway to Shibuya. There is a direct train loop to Shinjuku and if you have a JR pass you can use that. ueno station is one of the largest stations and many many lines go through it so you shouldn't have a problem.

Enjoy your holiday. Just in time for sakura season.
