do spreadbetting demo accounts reflect reality?

Hi i have been using some demo accounts for spreadbetting with city index and ig markets and have been quite profitable. I just want to know is the price you are offered on the demo account the same as on the realtrading account? for example say if buy at 09:30 and it rises 20 points on the demo account would it have been the exact same as on a real account?
i know people say demo accounts are not the same because you would not allow a large loss like on a demo if it was real money but that is not how a system works so i would be perfectly happy to lose my given stop loss.
im really just looking for a yes/no answer on whether you would get the same price and same market movement on a real account as on a demo account?
    Thanks

Afaik it is always the same on both versions (speaking from a SportingIndex POV), although they do use these markets as a training trading tool for their junior traders. However they are rarely absolutely out of line, you might get 2 or 3 points either way, but they wont be wrong by 10+.

granted i jsust said i wanted a yes/no answer but that was because i seen this same question asked on other forums and none of the replys gave a yes no answer. Could you elaborate as to what your experiance of it was and what trading platform used?
thanks to healio for the info. its just i have been doing well on demo versions and the popular belief is that its not the same as a real live account but if the prices that are obtained and the market movement the same then in theory i should be able to duplicate my success in the real live account.
    Thanks

The only thing that differs hear is "money". You can lose 2000 virtual pounds on the SportingIndex one anyway.

The real question is would you buy/sell certain things even for a euro with real money. If the answer is not an absolute YES, then spread betting is not for you. It can be unbelievable or it can be plain rotten, all id say is if you dont have the bankroll then dont get involved.

One fellow I was talking to a few years ago told me one piece of advice on spread betting, that was to always sell. He based this on the fact it is someone job to set the levels, and human nature suggests when they get it wrong it is usually catastrophic for them. Never looked into though.

hi , do sportingindex cater for spreadbetting on the ftse100 or dow jones?
from i could see they only cater for convential sporting bets like rugby and horses, football etc but not financial markets?
