Back to the future (rte always play it around christmas so it counts as a christmas film). It's got a DeLorean that can fly and travel through time. What more could you want from a film. Either that or die hard.

Charlie and the chocolate factory. Not a Christmas movie, I know, but it was shown at some point every year (maybe still is?) and it was tradition to watch it in our place. One of the few traditions I actually respected.

    Ah, sweet memories...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

A fine rendition of a classic, I love it! We watch it every year before Christmas. Allow me to start *ahem* "The Marleys were dead to begin with":)

Boo! The Santa Clause is turning into a classic. Definitely my favourite. Last year I watched it with my sister while plucking thyme. It wasn't on this year so I gave it to her as a Christmas present.

It's "Raiders of the lost Ark" for me.

Back To The Future - I've seen it at least once every year for the past two decades+... and I just don't grow tired of it. In fact I seem to only love it more. At different stages of your life, you get different things out of it I suppose (ok, that's a bit deep for an 80s teen fantasy comedy). I even slightly prefer BTTF 2 to the first one. 3 - I'd take or leave.

I also adore It's A Wonderful Life - the reverse A Christmas Carol. People say it's schmaltzy - not really overall, there are some very dark moments.

And The Muppets' Christmas Carol is outstanding.

    :)

A close second is Miracle on 34th Street (the old one).
Also Trading Places whilst not strictly a christmas movie always gives me that sense of festive feel good cheer.

Don't know why people rag on the third BTTF film so much. I honestly think it's just as good as the first two.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

Oh yeah, I like it - I just don't like it as much as the first two.

Feels kinda like we're talking about The Godfather trilogy. :pac:
For me, the exact same applies - I don't think The Godfather part III is a bad movie. The only thing that really stinks about it is Sophia's acting.
