Thanks for the quick reply. I was just wondering does anyone know somewhere in particular that will be open in the morning.

I'm working night shift so ideally somewhere that will be open at 8:00am.

It may not be an ideal solution (I am in Blackrock), but if you are badly stuck drop me a PM in the next hour and I might have the batteries you need. Do you know which type and how many you need?

Hi, Thanks for the offer. It's a bit far to drive tho. And I'm off work at 8 and hoped to be home before 8:30. Very grateful for the offer tho. If I can't find anywhere, I'll try pick some up in the afternoon.

    ...damn "Biscuit The Dog", 6 x D batteries :(

If tthe others don't happen to be open, Spar on Patricks St is open and Centra on Cork St is open.

Applegreen in Balinteer will be open (For what it's worth), if you see a guy (with glasses) in the morning, behind the counter looking like he wants to die, do say hello! :pac:

I was telling the missus about your case and she said that if you have kids surely there are some other toys around the house with the batteries you need.... worth it checking it out I guess

The newsagents on Clonsilla Road down opposite the credit union and Garden House chinese take away are usually open Christmas morning.

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I'll plan a route to drive to all those places (hopefully I'll find somewhere open).

Good idea, but don't think that she has any with D batteries.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'll let you know how I get on.

Also, might be worth noting anywhere that is open tomorrow on a thread somewhere and maybe next year someone will find it useful :)

AFAIK the majority of Topaz garages are open. Try a local shop too. Some shops here in Ashbourne are open for about 2 or 3 hours for people needing milk, bread, batteries or cigarettes.

McGuire's on Deerpark Rd in Mount Merrion is open for another two hours. Known for it's legendary Penny Sweet Selection.
Have tons of batteries, general grocieries and last minute items in particular. Say hi if your in today.

    Ha ! thats you!

you and the staff there are always great and friendly, apart from the 2 girls who tend to work the weekends are a bit moody.
