why have you been told specifically to get a ph balanced one? the fluoride is the more important part. your saliva should be able to do the ph balancing needed.

ph balanced for some reason hurts my eyes. i'd love to meet the rep flogging this stuff.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I didn't ask to be honest, the dental assistant said ph balanced. I have braces if that makes a difference?

the best ph balanced mouthwash with fluoride is tap water. if you have braces, you just need to watch what you drink, coke, and especially diet coke. a ph balanced mouthwash (which still hurts to think about!) won't have much benefit by the time you come to use it, unless you use it straight after eating or drinking.

Thanks, didn't ever drink a lot of fizzy so have knocked on the head completely since getting braces on. Forgot there was flouride in water!

I highly recommend this stuff. They stopped selling it in Ireland so you have to buy it online from the UK. It doesn't burn or dry out your mouth like every other mouthwash on the planet so you can swish it around in your mouth for as long as you want (I can no longer sing in the shower because I'm swishing and gargling for the entire time that I am in there. It's like magic. It seems to help everything from geographic tongue to disgusting smokey-coffee-plaque mouth to fury tongue after a night of beer.

Make sure you don't get the 500ml alcohol free stuff. It has to be the green "sensitive" 300ml variety. Like I said, it is the only mouthwash that actually works and it's practically impossible to find.

(I don't work for Oral B - if I did I would get them to market this stuff more).
