Renault Sandyford - no more Renault warranty cover

This is bizarre, despite them selling and servicing Renaults it seems they will no longer be doing warranty work on them, for that your have to go to Liffey Valley or Blanchardstown. What kind of nonsense is that? If I was buying a Renault a key part of my decision would be ease of servicing and warranty cover, and having to drive miles to have warranty work done would see me buy something else instead. I am not sure where this decision has come from but it looks like a bad move for both Renault and/or Renault Sandyford. I wonder do they tell prospective buyers this, I doubt it.

I dont think that they'll be selling Renaults either. I called looking for a price last week and they told me they're giving the franchise back or something to that affect.

Well that would make sense, but a relative who was there was told they will continue to sell them and service, maybe she misunderstood them.

Renault should be a lesson to every manufacturer about the real cost of letting quality slip, while their current products are quite good and may be near the top for reliability I think the marque has suffered immeasurably recent dire models.

That's the most optimistic thing I've ever read here on motors :D

Well thats what we're being told anyhow.

In fairness to Renault, they've got alot of cars ordered for the new year apparently. Mybe they are still in the "good times" mindframe and dont really care because they are moving metal? Not that they are making much money on em mind.

In fairness to Renault they have worked harder than most to sort our their reliability problems and the new Laguna bears this out. Audi and BMW take note.

"Since its launch in October 2007, Renault’s third-generation Laguna has achieved its build quality objectives. After several customer studies and the release of independent agency publications (most recently ADAC’s 2008 results, where Laguna III ranked in second place), the results for quality and reliability show that Laguna is in the ’TOP3’ in terms of quality for product and services."
