I'm trying to figure out what might be wrong with a family member's laptop - it's acting very strangely.

It's as if the down arrow is held down... on a list of files or any webpage, it just shoots to the bottom and if you try and use the up arrow it's like you're fighting the computer, it just pushes back down.

Weird. The most obvious explanation is that there's a problem with the key itself, but it looks normal, and it's bouncing back up like all the other keys.

Anyone ever come across a problem like this... and what was the explanation?

(next plan of action is to try and find someone to replace the keyboard - just looking here for alternative explanations)
