Post from HK seems to be a really terrible this year.

    Im waiting on 3 packages:

1: from Dealextreme - bought on the 23/11 - shipped on the 25/11

    2: Ebay - bought on the 23/11 - - shipped on the 24/11

3: Ebay - bought on the 02/12 - shipped via singapore post(item was listed as hong kong) on the 04/12

These are quite small and have no tracking numbers

Has anyone else received anything from hong kong in this kind of time frame?

Bought an ipod charger on eay. Took one month and a day to arrive. Contacted seller and he assured me it would arrive that HK post was very very busy this time of year. Just hope there not xmas presents. Im still waiting on a package from UK :(

    all 3 are! :\

As I said they arent big so i can live with them not being here for Christmas, and i knew the last one would be tight, but i didnt imagine the first 2 would would be a problem!

Received two items last week from a seller I buy a lot from, normally receive them within 2 weeks but last order took almost 5 weeks.

Waiting 5 weeks now on a set of earphones, seller assured me they were sent. Have also bought from this seller before with no problems.

Bought some items about a month back and they took what seems to be the standard 14 days. Had one or two items in a week before but most seem to take about 14 days with the odd one running to 21 days.

Non worth more than 22euro inc P&P I hope?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,264 ✭✭✭witnessmenow

    I dont think they'd be worth €22 alltogether :P

I'm still pretty sorted without them but still a little dissapointing , I'll know for next year though!

Jk post is always slow. Anytime I have ordered. Something it has always taken 3 weeks

I got a message from dx saying it was shipped or processing, bought around that time too, it was not until mid dec that the actual HK tracking showed that they were in fact really being processed.

If it did come from Hong Kong make sure you make that crystal clear in the feedback you leave so others (that bother to look) will know.

    @witnessmenow

i was just looking into this my self..

i have 3 Separate orders from DX that iam waiting for....

All year they have come over to me (from date of ordering) 2 weeks....
either it by EMS or standard reg post....

    Ordered stuff on

    2nd dec (ems)
    4th dec (standard reg)
    10th dec (ems)

i though would be in time for xams.... but NO!

The 1st one got shipped on the 12th dec ..and is still on route!
The 2nd "left HK for its destination" on 17th dec
the 3rd got shipped on the 16th dec...

usually from date of shipment i find that ordered take 5-7 days to arrive in Ireland....

If u contact DX about a missing EMS order they ask " has it been 14 business days from shipment"

so i don't fall into that category yet.....

I ordered a skin for my iPhone from a HK based eBay seller at the beginning of December.

    Still waiting...

I ordered 3 items from as far back as 24th November and still waiting for all 3.

In fairness all the suppliers have been in touch pointing out the delay at the HK end and offering a refund or re-shipment

I'll give them a few more days...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 465 ✭✭cramp

The 3 items that i mentioned earlier in this thread have still not arrived.....
And to make things MORE frustrating, there was a 4th order that i placed with DX that i didn't mention earlier in this thread as i wasn't expecting it any time soon......has arrived today!!

this was ordered on the 20th DEC and "left HK for its destination on the 27Th dec....and arrived today!!!!
this one was by standard reg post.................darn!!!

the others 2 were sent by EMS express, and one by standard reg post..

My DX item shipped 17-12-09 has not arrived, was sent registered post and no sign of it with anpost tracking.

I am waiting on another item sent 2nd dec, the seller is no longer registered on ebay and I filed a complaint, however I know see he has positive feedback from other buyers after this date, so fingers crossed still.

All my other DX stuff sent around 9-12 has arrived.

Im still waiting for a Christmas present I ordered for my girlfriend in November. I've lodged a support ticket with DX but they're really starting to annoy me.

    Dear Thomas,

    Sorry for any inconvenience.

Your order has been shipped on 12/2/2009 11:45:48 PM, with tracking # xxxxxxxxxxxxx.
The item (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) left Hong Kong for its destination on 14-Dec-2009.

Do you receive the package now ?
    Thanks for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Maggie

    Hi Maggie,

    Thanks,

No, the package has not arrived. At this stage I don't believe it is going arrive and I would appreciate an escalation of this support ticket.

    Regards,
    Thomas

I fully expect the next reply will be some form of - "Do you receive the package now ?"

Ordered from DX on 24/11/09, shipped on 26/11/09, still haven't received anything!

It is a low value item so it doesn't have a tracking number, so it could be in the thieving hands of any postal service.

At least I'm not the only one!

Just got this message from DX:
    Sorry for any inconvenience.

Would you please wait patiently about 2 weeks ? You will receive the package. Please don't worry.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Best regards,
    Maggie

I contacted the supplier of an item I bought on 24th November and he has agreed to ship another item - maybe I'll get lucky and both will arrive?

By next Thursday my package will have been "in the post" for a full month.

The credit card bill will probably arrive before it does.

My first ever order with Deal Extreme has left me a little unimpressed. I ordered some bits and pieces which shipped on 26/11 which have yet to arrive. I was aware DE were slow but this is taking the Michael. Is this normal folks?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,150 ✭✭✭homer911

Definitely not normal - 2-3 weeks is more typical.

The problem is to do with reduced cargo capacity out of Hong Kong combined with the Christmas sales period

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 465 ✭✭cramp

Would have to agree, i have been buying from them about 2 years....and its always about 2 weeks......that INCLUDES the 2-5 days that they are getting the order ready....

I bought stuff late november and it arrived on time....

I'm in the exact same position. First order from DE, shipped 26/11! Has yet to arrive. Luckily it was only a low value good, but still.

Can you start a Paypal dispute over goods not arriving?

Hmnn I'm not too sure as I thought that was only for eBay. I looked at their support section and fired them off a quick mail, we'll see what happens with that. Like yourself it was for a few low value items so it's nothing to get too concerned with.

Did you raise a support request online, or just send an email?

Post any response you get. I'm guessing they're just going to ask if the package arrived yet and then tell you to wait until it does.

I finally received something from DX. I ordered on 24/11, it shipped on 26/11 (although the date stamped on the envelope was 24/11 so I guess that's when it was shipped). I received it today (11/1) [the exact same day that DX responded to my support ticket ]

I just got mine as well. Have to say I'm less than impressed. I ordered four things:

1 - Business card holder - the one that arrived is completely different to the one I ordered

2 - Led mood lamp - looks like it was used before, the bottm is dirty and scratched

3 - Silly lightsaber style light - Batteries are dead and stuck, not sure how I'll get them out to replace it

4 - Cheapo bluetooth dongle, will test this when I get home

(Incidentally I got no response to the mail I sent.)

This arrived today but is not as high speed as advertised, doesn't bother me too much. Think I will stick with places I can trust in future and pay the few euro more.

Just to note that the item I was waiting on arrived this morning. Postmark date is 13 December, so it would appear not the sellers fault.

To the OP: Did these come in yet? Don't leave us hanging!

I have something I am looking to order & noticed the source is singapore (i know, not HK), but still wanted to see what the timeframe I was looking at was.
