Sandwich brands FAI 'an embarrassement'

Boards poster Sandwich has branded the FAI and its Chief Executive John Delaney 'an embarrassment', for their failure to recognise that sporting justice is not always done. In a statement released today, Sandwich urged the FAI to come out of their fantasy land and stop making themselves, Irish soccer, and Ireland, a laughing stock for the rest of the world, and just put the Thierry Henry ball handling issue to rest. "It was an mistake, but the history of sport is littered with such decisions, and most sportsmen take it with the grace that the very term 'sporting' suggests". Sandwich stated that rather than being offended at the humourous disdain with which FIFA CEO Sepp Blatter treated an FAI request that they be included as a 33rd team in next year's World Cup, they should have recognised it as the only sane way to treat such a ludicrous request.
He called on John Delaney to put th matter to rest and to stop wasting time and resources which could be better put to running soccer in Ireland and to organising Irelands qualifying campaign for the next European Championships.
