London Irish v Leinster - where to stay?

    Hi all -

I'm planning to go to the HC game at London Irish (22/23/24 Jan TBC tomorrow). Has anyone done that trip before and if so where did you stay? Reading is well out from London; is there anywhere worthwhile to stay in the area or is it better to take a train into the city?

Any thoughts welcome folks... I'd like to have this arranged by Christmas...

    Cheers,

    Conor

There be a hotel in the ground and Hilton near by , if you want to stay in central London, Reading is only 25 minutes from Paddington and a bus service takes you from the station to the ground

This is a bit out of date but is a good starting point

+1, I'd stay in london and grab the Paddington train. It's your best bet. I'll Be staying in SW London, heading to Paddington on the tube and getting the overland to Reading. There's a bus to the Madjeski from there or you can grab a Taxi.

I live in London, agree with above you're best staying around Paddington and getting the train / feeder bus.

Have the date and time been confirmed anywhere?

I meant the times being legit rather than the site itself. It might be a guide time rather than an official one?

I just wondered whether they'd have it public ahead of the ERC.

I hope its on the saturday, i took a chance and booked flights for sat morning and back sunday noon when they where going cheap.

Thanks for the tips, WTF. Taking your advice and staying in Paddington.

What part of ground best for Leinster fans to get match tickets for, in your opinion?

South stand, there's still some availability and that's where most of the Leinster fans will be.

Hilton in Paddington is right in the station and is very good. Good value too. Fly Gatwick, take express 15 minutes travel time and then get a train to reading next day.

Im travelling over. Cant get tickets from leinster rugby as not a season ticket holder. London Irish site wont sell because I cant register without a postcode. I need three tickets. Any ideas?

Just put in 'Dublin' for the postcode, worked fine for me and I got my tickets 3 days later.

Am booked in the IBIS Reading.

Leinster STH's can now purchase more tickets from the allocation.

Rather amusingly, I think I may be closer to LI's ground then anyone staying in London.

Tickets booked for the south stand, looking forward to the game.

Is this where the majority of Leinster fans will be?

Anyone know what the arrangement is regarding receipt of tickets? Are they posted out to you or can you collect them?

Surely you mean Heathrow, and not Gatwick!!!!!!!!
Paddington Express every 15 minutes glides you into London in 15 minutes.
And Paddington or Lancaster Gate are ideal locations in London for the weekend.
