im claiming jobseekers while working part time. I have a dilemma that i hope someone can help me with,

I have been offered hours over christmas that I definitely want to take because work is work however it will only be around 3 hours a day which will mean i will earn approx 25 euro to AT MOST (but unlikely) 33 euro ish. my problem is that for every day i work I am deducted 22 euro from my jobseekers.... if i only earn 25 eur (or less) I am not actually making any money for these hours in work when taken into account the petrol i will use driving the 20 minutes to and from work...

please dont get me wrong... I know that I should be grateful for work and I am going to do it either way, its just a bit disheartening knowing that I won't really be making any money as such... I guess I am just wondering is there anyway of making a note on the yellow slips that I am only working the 3 hours for eg. so that the SW office count it as half a day perhaps?

my problem gets complicated if i work perhaps 4 days a week at just 3 hours a day (possibly less).... I wont be entitled to any jobseekers that week then... but will be getting very little income too.... I dont want to be on jobseekers forever, I dont want to be a fraud etc. but at the same time I really cant afford to shoot myself in the foot and loose out on my income....

Many thanks in advance for any advice :)

    Yes, you understand things correctly.

    Yes, it is balmy.

The only thing you can to is try to convince the employer to give you more hours over less days, or perhaps find some other employer to give you some other hours on those days.

Sorry, can't be of any more help.
