Is anyone doing anything really interesting?
None of this give up the fags thing, too boring (although good)

Is anyone doing anything kinda weird?

Bring on the sarcasm and cynical humour!!

Every year, the same resolutions get posted, so I'll save everyone time by posting them here. Delete whatever's inapplicable.

    *lose weight/get healthy
    *study more/work harder
    *Find a girlfriend/boyfriend/goat
*Go back to college/find dream job
    *Travel lots/leave home

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

Only resolution I have is try not to die :pac:

Every January 1st I wipe the slate clean and just try not to make the same mistakes I made the past year.

Hasn't really worked in the past 24 years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,257 ✭✭✭SoupyNorman

    This year:

Take up smoking - most people I work with smoke and they are endlessly heading out for 20min+ smoke'n'chats, so why should I sit there in the office like a schmuck when they are going out to do a non-essential habit.

    Masturbate 20% less.

    And thats it for 2010.

I've decided my life's just too boring,

So I'm going to kill one person each day, just to liven it up.

I'm gonna start small with someone like Ronnie Corbett and work my way up to Peter Crouch

Is this based purely on height or are you going to factor in body mass?

Well I think they might get suspicious should I approach them with a weighing scales, measuring tape and calculator beforehand, so height it is

Kill Crouchie first, then Abigale Clancy can be all mine

My new years resolutions are the same as everyone elses.

Learn how to drive, healthier, marathon or something, degrade smokers as they polute my lungs, new hobby, a job..etc

Oh and watch the end of LOST and be done with my dirty habbit, my family and friends can stop worrying about my obession with it. I dont go out nights its on, turn off my phone, and half the time wont go out after college/work just incase I miss it.

I'm gonna try sort out my sleeping pattern! No more being up 'til 3, 4, 5 in the morning doing nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,657 ✭✭✭komodosp

Don't know why people bother making new years resolutions. The reason they don't work is that January is such a depressing month... It is still wet and cold and dark but with no Christmas to look forward to. So you don't feel like going out for runs or having healthy salads and you want to drink and smoke. So nobody bothers with their resolutions.

You should make early April resolutions instead. The weather is often good in April (of course that just makes you want to sit out and have a beer or a fag in the sun so maybe that's not such a good idea either)

    X2

Also get fit and save money. Giving up the booze for 6 months as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,583 ✭✭✭cloneslad

I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't drink tea or coffee, I have a girlfriend, I have been travelling, I have gotten my masters, I go running most days.

You'd think I had nothing to give up or change, but I'm a prick so I could prob do with being nicer, oh and getting a job.

My old boss in korea keeps trying to get me back out there, so I may take up the offer if nothing comes my way in the first few months of next year.

Balls. Got there before me. So not to lose the thanks I would have gotten, I'll tell a joke related to your username.

What's the difference between a clever tramp and a venereal disease?

    One's a cunning runt, the other's a running c*nt.

There's no point in making New Year's resolutions before the holidays because you know you are going to do something really whack before they're over and you'll just need to update the list, anyhow.

More than likely ON New Year's eve, actually--so best to be thinking on that after you figured out where you are when you wake up.

Get car fixed. Grow a Pair & Learn to Drive the Bloody Thing. At 31 living in Rural Oirland it no picnic.
Use Capital Letters a Lot Less.
Move out of home again. Moving back was a necesity but a big mistake. Got into a rut too quickly & like a previous poster said, gotta sort out sleeping patterns. That'll come with moving out.
    Get a job.
Or just volunteer with somewhere like St.Catherines' etc.
Become a Money Lender where possibe to people I know & trust (rules out family then!) with INTEREST FREE Loans. Small, open-termed ones. If I have it somebody else might as well get some use out of it that needs it. It's not doing much in CU or B of I.
Go cycling more. All year around. Not just June-September when weather's more favourable. Start that in April this year!
Encourage, nay harrang my Sister to give up cigarettes. Or at least not inflict it on her' siblings.
Encourage family harmony. Quite difficult for adults to see wrong on both sides of a marriage split. I could understand it if it were kids.
    Think that's it.
Oh & check back to see have I achieved any of above in a years' time.

    quit smoking.

-Continue not to eat any refined sugars. It's nothing to do with losing weight. I got a fright as to why I should give them up. I havin't touched any in weeks at this stage.
    -Learn how to drive.
    -Apply to Colleges.
-I've been wanting to pick up a sport for a while.
-Get my emergency tax back finally!

    Nothing interesting.

Don't do new years resolutions although I think having one to do everything other people are trying to give up just to p*** them off would be good for a laugh.

Probably die by the 3rd though :(

That is so true, I'd be embarassed to join a gym in January. If I wanted to do it 1st of February would be a better time to do it.

My resolution is to limit the time I spend on here.

I'm planning to increase my carbon footstep. One of my options is to by an electric car, break the windows, fill it up with turf & use it as a patio heater.

Start actually going into college and start working on projects :p Oh and start drinking more! I've let the team down this year with my lack of drinking! :D

If you weren't drinking & didn't have that excuse to not be in college & working on your projects, then what the f*ck were you doing?
