Since it's on the box, might as well have a thread for it.

Should be a handy win for Arsenal but it has been a weird weekend for results so far.

Arsenal: Song, Nasri, Arshavin, Emmanuel-Thomas, Fabianski, Eduardo, Vela, Walcott, Eboue, Sagna, Denilson, Vermaelen, Diaby, Ramsey, Gallas, Wilshere, Silvestre, Almunia

Hull City: Gardner, Duke, McShane, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Mendy, Cousin, Olofinjana, Fagan, Ghilas, Barmby, Boateng, Garcia, Hunt, Zayatte, Dawson, Geovanni, Myhill, Kilbane

Disappointed not to have Ramsey in there. He'd do a far better job than that ape Diaby, how he gets a game at Arsenal I do not know. Good to see Sagna dropped (I think) he's playing muck melodeon and this might be a good kick up the arse for him.

Cagey 2-1 win hopefully, with Fabregas to congratulate the team in his trackies again infuriating Phil Brown who remarks "Phil Brown wouldn't stand for that kind of dress from the captain of Phil Browns team"

We look very much like the same old Arsenal, god damn you Cesc!

Eboue has put in a few very good crosses today, if only we had someone who could head the ball...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,094 ✭✭✭Joeyjoejoe43

Nice to see Denilson getting stuck into that tackle, we need more of that, a bit of steel in midfield. Pick up yellow cards if ya have to..

We cant drop more points tonight can we?? Limp performance from the team so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,571 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

I can't understand why we have Arshavin up top and Eduardo out on the left, Eduardo isn't going to beat anyone with pace and at least if he's in the box he has a bit more strength for holding up the ball.

In all fairness, bit sad from Garcia. Stupid from Nasri at first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,571 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

    1. What the fcuk is Almunia doing running all the way up?

    2. Why Nasri? Why?

    3. Lol at that dive.

Hunt and Nasri both rightfully booked.

    Denilson is my hero :o

Come on. Let's take those 3 points lads. Time to crack open a beer + smoke break..been a great match in terms of banter so far.

Hunt reminds me of Wolf from Gladiator.

Anyone else know if Cesc is on the bench with the players?

Very cold day in London, hope he has his black leather jacket on and fully zipped up :p

well, tis half time and Arsenal are undeservedly 1-0 up.

It's a pity that the scuffle is the main highlight. Nasri with a petulant little trod on the toe, Hull with the (as to be expected) over reation. Barmby is a lucky boy to be on the field though, i dunno would you call it a punch, slap or a push but he struck Nasri in the head, straight red if it had been seen, although it would have spoiled the game if it had been so, i think Bennett diffused the situation very fairly.

Anyway, Arsenal as usual these days playing within themselves in the first half and letting Hull run rings around them at times. Hull unlucky really not to have created more, they've wasted the ball in some good areas of the pitch. They could have caught Arsenal out on the counter once or twice too but for some terrible passing in the Arsenal half. They don't seem to know what to do when they have the ball, they couldn't have expected to have so much ball time against the Gunners.

As for the goal: the ESPN commentators didn't seem to think it was a foul but Diaby was bundled over by a strong challenge, i don't think you can really argue with it. Denilson though, excellent free. I saw it in his eyes as he lined it up that he would score. I've been telling you he all will be an important player for Arsenal yet. Great free.

If only he could have applied the finish, would have been a beautiful goal...

Any chance Arshavin could do something? Having him up front on his own is madness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,571 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

I'll be amazed if there isn't a red card in this game...
