Flying from Dublin to San Francisco via London Heathrow Terminal 1

    Hi,

I booked flights from Dublin to San Francisco via London Heathrow Terminal 1 in feb with ebookers.ie, I had booked a 06:40am flight from dublin to heathrow (BMI landing at 08:15) and then our flight from heathrow to san fran was going at 11:15am so that gave us 3 Hours in heathrow. Today ebookers emailed me and said flight times have changed and we would now be leaving dublin at 08:15 and landing in heathrow at 09:50 so this will only give us 1hr 25min before our flights with United Airlines takes off.
    Is this enough time?

it should be IF the flight leaves on time in dublin (flight time between dublin and heathrow is about 50 minutes approx), your bags will already be checked through in dublin so you don't have to worry about that, the united san francisco flight also leaves from terminal 1 so no change of terminal in heathrow (something which can waste alot of time)

BMI and United are in the same alliance so you should be able to get your boarding cards all the way through in Dublin, but I've some times still needed to get new ones on arrival in Heathrow. Although they generally sort that out at the gate or the transfers desk once your back through security, which you'll have to go through again in Heathrow. Should be enough time to make it, but don't dawdle on the way.

Well then you should have no problem! Just hope the flight from Dublin isn't delayed. It happened to us once flying from DUB to NYC via LHR, we missed our connecting flight and there wasn't another on until the morning. We chanced our arms and went up to the Aer Lingus desk and asked them about some free accomodation. They asked us was the delay because of weather or mechanical failure, we didn't know but guessed mechanical, she said that we could be put up in a hotel for this reason but not if it was weather... she didn't bother to check it!!! We stayed in the 4* Radisson Edwardian, dinner and breakfast included! Really cool place! Enjoy your trip!

Why have the moved you to a 0815 departure? bmi dont have a 0815 departure from DUB they have a 0645 and 0900 departure, can ebookers not put you onto hte BD120 the 0645 departure?

i rang ebookers and the girl on the phone said the bmi just passed the flight change details onto them and that my new flight out from bublin is Bmi 120
    Economy | Airbus A319 at 08:15am.
She said that the baggage will be transferred diectly from the flight from dublin so no need to worry about the bags, her english was not the best so i wonder should i ring them tomorrow ans ask can they contact bmi for me and get me flying earlier - could i contact BMI directly?

No - because you booked with the agency, you have to deal with the agency. They "own" the ticket, so bmi won't touch it.

BMI look to have moved BD120 back to 8:15. I can't understnad the logic behind this, the 6:40 flight was always full.

Ok Thanks - Suppose that answers why I have been changed, No point in asking to be changed now to an earlier flight when it does not fly anymore.
