Do you think the weather will be ok...ice wise?

I'm off this weekend but undecided as to which morning will be dedicated to a head splitting hangover and which to turning the pedals...

I'd be on for Saturday, was thinking of leaning towards the MTB though. If going out on road I might take the cross bike.

Would say you would be better off heading in the direction of the coast - Kildare tends to suffer more when there's ice/snow around.

Tried that last year, six riders down, two broken limbs in Sandycove.

I'd be on for just heading up the mountains as usual. Maybe Djouce rather than Sally Gap.

Warnings on the radio this morning specifically about kilakee viewpoint, I think it might be dangerous.

Heard as well just a few minutes ago that it will be bad all weekend and it will remain icy.

I think I'll just turbo or hit the gym.

I'm going to head down to Wicklow Town tomorrow morning from Stillorgan. Back roads should be OK. Not going near the hills. Dangerous.

Anyone thinking of heading upwards in Wicklow.....http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=63561452#post63561452

    Haha! you is a crazy!!
I could barely stand upright near the gap, good luck on two wheels.
Its extremely icy, last winter was snowy and grippy..this is not the same ..under the snow up there is a layer of ice.
    Bring plasters is my advice.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

I have a feeling you might be otherwise occupied that day...unless you're pencilling in post-Fleche celebratory drinks and dinner courtesy of an admiring ROK ON.

Sure what else would you be doing on Good Friday - the pubs will be closed.

Guys thanks a lot for the company. Sorry for the slow pace on the leg back. I am blaming the big heavy cross tyres and the heavy bike, (nothing to do with the heavy bloke on the bike).
It was actually a fabulous day for a cycle.

    Hopefully more tomorrow.

Btw, now that I know what a fleche is I will not ever be doing one. Best of luck to ye.

@GIHTH when you are bringing the ladies in heat' to Limk then be sure to let me know :-)

Whats the situation with the Fleche at this stage - decided day/timing, how many looneys interested ? Was wondering if I could manage it, but usually hire a Shannon Cruiser for Easter time and the kids are expecting to do it again. Wondering if I could fit both in.
