I cracked the screen on my laptop recently and when I replaced it, the screen is so dim as to be unreadable.

I swapped out the new screen with the cracked screen and it's the same, so I'm now trying to figure out if it's the inverter I've damaged.

    Any thoughts?

    It's a HP DV6500
