As regards a good film, I can't think of a christmas themed one. however some of the best spanish films i've seen are:

As long as you have the english/spanish subtitles they should be straight forward enough,

Mar adentro (the sea inside), El orfanato (the orphanage) and why not El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan's labyrinth)

In addition to what djcervi has added and perfectly pointed out, if it is ok i'd like to say the following: It is better to you use present continuous so instead of "aprendemos" use "estamos aprendiendo" as you are currently learning it.

Also, as you are addressing this message to several people use instead of "puede recomendar" "pueden recomendar" and instead of "perdone por mi..." "perdonen por mi..."

Me encanta "Los Diarios de Motocicleta" y "Volver"! Hay muchas películas en casi cada tienda de musica ahora. No hablo español muy bien cualquiera pero creo que estoy mejorando

"Muerte de un ciclista" fue un mejor película, en mi opinión. Esta un poquito como una película de Hitchcock.

También, "El laberinto del Fauno" y "Vacas" estan películas buenas.

Bueno, tambíen hay películas de otros paises. Por ejemplo Amores Perros, de Mexico es fantistico. Pero se debe notar que el espanol es super coloquial y bastante dificil entender.

Tened en cuenta que el español que se habla en México, Argentina, Colombia... es distinto al que hablamos en España, por eso quizá el español de México resulta complicado de entender. Lo digo por si tenéis alguna preferencia sobre qué acento queréis aprender.

I'd recommend Amores Perros and Y Tu Mamá También (but just as movies, the Spanish is quite difficult so you'll definitely need subtitles. My wife (who is Spanish) had difficulty with a few lines in "Tu Mamá" so don't worry if you are lost. El Mariachi is good fun, if you like shootout movies (there was an English-language semi sequel made a few years later with Antonio Banderas and Selma Hayek called Desperado).

Of Spanish cinema, I'd recommend Belle Epoque (won an oscar in 1993 or so for best foreign language movie, I saw it around when I started to learn Spanish). [Rec] is a decent horror movie, if you like that sort of thing. I got this Almodóvar dvd box set for €20 in HMV a few months ago with 5 movies in it, some good stuff there too.

A parte de las que han dicho añadiria "el dia de la bestia", "el bosque animado", "jamon jamon", "amanece que no es poco", y si quereis de sustos "rec" o "rec2".

De argentinas/mexicanas/etc con cuidado, ya que hasta a los nativos nos cuesta entenderlas al ser una pronunciacion totalmente distinta. Aconsejaria "9 reinas" de argentina, pero cuesta entenderla...
