    Hey

I'm looking to get my hands on 2 Kane model silage trailers 1/32 to add to my ever growing collection of 1/32 farm models. I know their is a lad in the north, www.martinsmodeltrailers.co.uk but there's no contact details on the site.

Just wondering if any of you have purchased models from him before or have contact details for him?

    Thanks

Ya bought a nice few bits of universal hobbies stuff off Tommy Fennelly in Mad for models this time last year. (major,135,35x and joskin trailer) He's based in carlow, trouble is if you drive down like I did, you'I end up buying half the shop!! :D I brought 2 of the 110/90's, a kuhn side mounted disc mower and a ROS scarifier aswel!!

If I'd the time I'd love to start making a few custom bits myself, as there's alot of small stuff that the main manufacturers don't do! I'd say there'd be a nice market there too!

But gettin back about the trailers, If anyone on here knows where or of someone who'd make me 2 Kane trailers, let me know!!

    thanks!

when you buy these items can you hook up say the britains attachments to it. was a bit dissapointed last year when i bought a ros fiat 180/90 to find it had to hitch. the only thing taht i have which fits on it is a lemken 4 furrow reversable plough.

Just found out that Britains are bringing out a Kane trailer model this summer like what I was looking for, so delighted :D Couldn't get hold of that Martin lad up north who custom makes them www.martinsagritrailers.co.uk. Just aswel now as I think he was charging around €150 a pop (possibly more). The Britains one will probably be bought off the shelf for €25-30.

Was at the model show today in the Clayton in Galway, anyone go?

I came home with a lovely Mchale hydraulic front bale handler from perfect32.com (covers come off like the real deal to convert to spikes).

Also a pair of fleming bale handlers (double and single from modelconversions.com. They can tip. Good detail. He makes a nice major tanker also but she's €160...:o

Anyone else catch the farm model collecting bug?

I dabble too, mainly Ford and New Holland tractors and then various machinery. Currently trying to teach myself to make stuff, there's a show in Dunmanway, Co Cork in three weeks and I want to have a yard done for that, probably very optimistic but making progress!

    Really impressive Muckit.

How do you 'weld' at that scale - is it solder or glue?

The Mchale handler is nice, isn't it? :D It was made by this guy http://www.perfect-32.com/p2.html All his models are individually handmade from brass, so as far as I know Lostcovey it's soldered. Aside from the missing hydraulic pipes, it's a perfect working replica, which is impressive at this scale.

The fleming handlers ain't bad either. They are plastic and tip as they should. I think they use a strong plastic glue that when applied activates to effectively 'weld' the individual pieces together. They are made by http://www.modelfarmer.co.uk/

And yes I am a big kid at heart.... :D

    RE: my original post....

The KANE trailers I was looking for have not yet been produced by Britains, despite their inclusion in their recent 2011 brochures

Thanks for the info and link Massey6480 ;) Some good work there. The poor quality of the paint finish does let them down though in my opinion.

Any idea where I could find scale 1/32 Herron Dump Trailer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Muckit

    You could try this lad.....

    http://www.udimoretractorshop.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=171

    http://www.udimoretractorshop.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=172

He may be able to modify, repaint and put new decals on either of them to create what you're after.

If that fails, you could try writing to santy! :D

DSC00561-500x500.JPGLooking at the real deal, the NC body looks very similar. Add front lip, new paint and decal job and bob's your uncle.

    Best of luck

    It's the small things... :D

After all the controversy,re-do's etc I was expecting a trailer of massive detail but they look rank.
Hopeless detail and badly finished. The mother of all anti-climaxes

Really? I know Britains stuff isn't quite in the same league as UH, but I've heard from lads that Britains made a decent effort with this one, no?

Did you see the actual model, or are you going on pics GrassHopper?

Solid mesh on the front, white rims and a tipping ram almost touching the ground is well off the real thing
