    i have subscribed to sky..sky+ installed in the house and another sky box multiroom in another room and want to add reciever to another room...question is...do i need to run cable from the dish or can i run from a combiner from inside the house?


    sky multiroom is a rip off. :mad:

    Cable running directly from the LNB at the centre of the dish to the new box.

    aren't combiners available so you dont have to run cable all the way from the LNB?

    No - the receiver needs to be able to send voltages and signals to control the LNB, so you need a dedicated run.

    Only in a apartment-type setup will you have cables running to a multiswitch which then leads to a quattro (not quad) LNB. For a domestic installation you will have a quad or octo LNB which feeds up to four/eight tuners, each on a dedicated cable.
