    Couple of possible things:

    1. Is the aerial lead definatley attached at the back of the radio? Had it slip off a couple of times when putting the radio back in on a couple of cars.

    2. Is it a Jap Import? They have different frequencies and I believe you need a band expander to get them to work in Ireland - even if you've fitted a European Radio (so I'm told). Band expander may have been attached to the radio you took out?

    will check it out later

Aerial lead is the thicker, single black cable (usually) that plugs in by itself. Kind of like a TV aerial cable if that makes sense.

you may need n adaptor to fit the aerial as they have different sized jacks
