Who would win or loose if AN POST failed

I realize that AN POST is semi state and therefore not an shorting opportunity and considered a very "safe business, but in theory which businesses that rely on them, featuring on the Irish stock market would suffer most ie, suppliers or others with exposure.

My theory being that they have very tough challenges ahead. People don't send so many letters opting for email and In the parcel area they seem to be loosing market share. Which i noticed most of all with recent marketing campaigns claiming to be the choice for delivery for online businesses etc, while at the same time loosing their biggest customers at an extra ordinary rate.

From a commercial stand point they seem uncompetitive by having expensive running costs and have practically given away some of their businesses to courier companies like Fastway and DPD, by not keeping up to speed on customer demand / requirements.

In the current environment where difficult decisions are being made, is it impossible that the mighty could fall (ok shrink)? And if so where in the market would you play to support or go against this theory?

    Thoughts?

Huh?? I dont think this is the correct forum and I'm not really sure what your talking about.

Perhaps you should google Post Bank. The post office dont just deliver letters.

Sorry, what i meant was who in the stock market would you punt for or against if you thought An Post were doing bad.

Ie. when the property market starts to get over valued a good investment is places that improve your existing property such as B&Q, Woodies etc. When population ages, a good investment as a result is nursing homes.
