Wifey is offering me a Christmas present of either
    (a) a flying lesson out of Weston

    OR

    (b) a run in Simtechs 737 simulator.

I've done Weston before and enjoyed it, but the thought of the simulator is very tempting indeed! Anyone done this before?

I did a lesson at weston, so personally I'd wanna try the simulator. If she gets the sim and you change your mind, gimme a call!

Meh I think if I had the choice i'd go for the flying lesson man....I don't know how impressed you're going to be with the Sim compared with actually flying a real plane. But if you're not bothered about building hours or doing PPL then the sims probably the best option.

Simtech are also offering the sim vouchers on the ATR from Feb. Graphics are from Google earth...it's very impressive! :)

I personally love the 200, it's full motion so you can really feel the landing. But it's personal choice, wheither you want to put it towards getting a license or not.

Do the sim. That way you will get a nice goal to aim for:)

Oh Google Earth graphics sound good...the website does the imaging of the 737 sim no justice at all.

Ya it's going to be class. The 737-200 is 40 yrs old...so cant expect miracles :) They usually use it on night graphics which are good.

Lessons are tailored to what you want to do. You can bring a friend also and do it cpt and fo style.

The ATR is shiny and swanky though. Brand new and getting shipped from Canada as we speak. If I were you...Id book my lesson to be on that!

I was in the 737 sim before(jump seat)at simtech.Athough it is impressive its nothing compared to the bae146 sim they have too..My opinion would be to go for the 146(if possible) and failing that id do a lesson in weston.I dont think id pay for the 732..Thats just my opinion though..

definately go for a flight in weston, its far better flying the real thing and you will get nothing out of the 737 sim considering your experience level.
