Trend predictions spring summer 10.

Bit of a strange request... but fashion moves quickly these days.

I want to get a dress that I can wear to a Spring wedding and a summer graduation. I don't particularly like shopping but I want to get something decent for the wedding but dont want to waste my money on something I wont wear again. And if I could get something in the sales after christmas it would be even better.

Everything in the shops at the mo seems so faddish- the bubble hems, the back to the eighties look, body con dresses etc. So... has anyone seen any good fashion sites or blogs for spring summer 2010 predictions?

I've had a quick look online but all I have found are the designer fashion shows, which don't exactly give you a good idea of clothes you can actually buy or wear to a real event.

Sheer materials will be in, as well as the usual bright prints, colours and florals

I would suggest going for a classic cut dress that you can always wear again. Try Karen Millen and Coast, as they do classic styles and dont really bow to trends. As it is a Spring wedding I'd try go for a bright colour anyway. How much would you want to spend?

No idea what your style is, but all of those will carry through the season and would be good for a spring wedding as far as I could guess, except the first one I think might be a bit short

Thanks for the suggestions, I love the dresses you have picked but I tend to be very pale and find neutral colours kinda just make me look ill.

I have fallen in love with this dress, but am worried by the summer it will look like Im wearing last summers fashions etc.etc. I'm possibly worrying too much and if I like it its fine, but still.... And I know it seems scroogy but I just won't have more than 2 or 3 formal occasions so I don't want to be buying a different outfit every time.



They have it in black too, but I think I'd prefer a colour.

So what do you think?

I like that green dress you've picked there. It doesn't look like something to me that will look dated. It's not one of those 'here for now' trends like sequined dresses! I love the colour of it as well.

Would it be flexible enough to wear with black tights and a black coat in spring, and bare legs in summer with a bit of a tan? It seems ridiculous to be planning a summer outfit now but I'm just trying to be sensible.

That's actually rather freaky that you picked that colour Tawny, as it's going to be really big for ss10! I (pretend ) to work as a designer and have to look at all the trend and forecasting stuff and I remember that colour clearly because I ordered it

And the dress is a good cut, not too fashion.
