The Bose Portable Sound Dock is reduced to €279 at the O2 store in Grafton Street. Also the On Ear Headphones reduced to €99. They threw me in a free Sound Dock bag as well.:D

Yes. I got it in black (€399 in HMV). I asked the guy in 02 if Bose were bringing out a newer model and if that's why they are reduced. He hadn't a clue about that but he said as O2 are no longer going to stock them they want rid of their current stock. These are the ear phones I got: -

The other styles of ear phones are reduced as well but I can't say exactly what price.

Probably better sound quality than the bose as well. Remember kids, Friends don't let friends buy Bose.

Those earphones are quite comfortable and look stylish, but quality wise - they're not worth E99. No noise canceling and a distinct weak sound.

The only thing Bose do well is marketing. Their products aren't terrible, but they are massively overpriced for what they are, hence the reason you'll often hear bose = Buy Others Sound Equipment. There's a reason that Bose insist on having their demonstration units in a separate area from other manufacturers and there's a reason no audiophile recommends them. For anyone thinking of buying their stuff, do a bit of research on what you're actually getting, because for a quarter of the cost of Bose you'll get similar if not better results.

I too have Bose Speakers too (Acoustimass 15) and I think they're very good.

Some Bose systems are very good indeed. Some not so good, and an early stereo version of Acoustimass was very poor. I consider my current system excellent. In relation to the article you reference, a flat overall system response does not mean the best listening experience. I could pick other holes, but why bother. (Before you ask, I am profesionally qualified and have experience in the field going back many years.)

As an Owner of many different speaker/hi-fi systems over the years I can honestly say I am happiest with my current system.
Which by the way I bought in 1993 and paid £488 for my speakers ;)

I tried the acoustimass when I built this system and the sales assistant at the time was surprised that my Amp "Rattled" them.. I ended up buying a pair of XL4000's.
    Loving them to this day.
    Overpriiced... ??
    Quality.... Priceless..!!:D

I'm looking for a Panasonic HC3DBEB 40W DAB Micro Hifi System, probably similar to the Bose in that it's a docking station too.
I'd like to make this a thread rather than a thread hijack, but i haven't been able to find it in stock anywhere.
If anyone here knows where i can snap one up for a decent price (< £200) that would be great. It's highly recommended.
