    That was bought as a bill pay phone will it work with a pre-pay Sim card?

    If it's o2 the you don't need to Jailbreak to make it work, it will work without jailbreak.

    for other network you can jailbreak and unlock.

    So if I buy the 3GS on o2 for €50 I can put the Sim I have in my prepay Iphone now and it will work?

    it will indeed if it's o2 sim.
    why don't you port your prepay number to bilpay to save you confusion?

    it will work but you will still have a 18 month contract with o2 for your bill. they are not going to let you keep the phone and not pay your bill.
