pulp sport in new zealand pull a stunt where their presenter stands in christchurch on matchday(nz vs sa),in a springbok shirt with a sign saying mccaw is a cheat!

watch for the respectable looking woman dropping some f-bombs at him and calling him a wanker.

Shocked by how poor the kiwi's knowledge of the laws of rugby are!

He IS a cheat! The worst on the planet! Always offside, never rolls away, never gets penalised...

I'm going to put on my 7 hat for a moment here.

In rugby, there are no rules. Only laws. The refs are tasked with enforcing these laws HOWEVER, if they are not enforced, then the infrigement is therefore non-existent.

Richie McCaw is not a cheat, he is a legend. If he did get penalised, he'd just be a crap 7 playing for some crap team in New Zealand, however he doesn't get caught, thanks to his magical ability to flirt with the rules to the perfect amount without raising the referees attention. That is what makes him the best player in the world. (Even if BOD deserved the award this year)

    Video is hilarious, love it.

Doesn't make much sense to me, I'm no expert on the laws of the game though.

By that logic, if a ref isn't performing and is failing to penalise infringements, the infringements don't exist? come on.

It doesn't make sense. But I will live and die by that code.

I think its more meant to mean "If the ref doesn't see it, its ok" which some people hate and others agree is a huge part of the game.

A ref's performance shouldn't come into it really. If a refs terrible and not reffing the breakdown properly then it really does give an advantage to the team with the "shnakier" players but theres not much that can be done about that. As a person who was on the bad end of arguably the worst refereeing performance in history two weeks ago (club have the video and all as evidence. It would be funny if it wasnt me) I will agree that a bad ref can ruin a game, but even so you have to admire McCaw for getting away with what he does. He's pretty incredible.

This video makes me wonder what would happen, let's say, if Ireland were playing the All Blacks and someone put on an All Blacks Jersey and held a sign saying "BOD is a whinger" (or something) in and around Croke Park, or Landsdowne Road/Aviva as it will be. Would we be so precious about it? Really doubt it. I'm not criticising Kiwis. It's just an interesting thought.

If I saw someone doing that I'd get one of my mates, grab the guy and turn him on his head and see how he likes it.

    Would that make me Precious?

No. I'm sure he'd get a lot of abuse though.

Abuse? i don't think so. Banter, yes but no abuse I don't think. Like I'm fairly sure he would not be told to f@ck off as much.

That said, I suppose this guy looks like he stood around from mid afternoon until an evening kick off (say about 6 hours) and it got edited down to ~4mins. So the editors probably just picked the most horrible abusive people of which there will always be a few...
