SKY Multiroom

    Sky Multiroom
I'm looking for information on the SKY multiroom option.Have SKY+ but want the multiroom option, which they are looking for €299. (I have put my name down for a free SKY HD box) but now told will take upto 3 months so, may have to revert to paying this.

My question is on setup.....I dont have a second telephone point or satellite connection, so trying to find out the best way to sort this and will I have to do this myself or will the SKY person setup the satellite connection and run it to the room etc.
Do have the original box that SKY guy left with me(normal digital), but assume thats no good and will require another card etc setup and they wont want that.

On the phone line, saw on earlier posts about a wireless telephone option and how they do/do not work, so looking for advice on this and whether I should just run a line to the room , and not have any problems.

Last time the SKY installer left the old SKY box, so wondering could I be get him to install that one and just get a new card for this receiver also.
    All help appreciated

I have multi room not sky+,you need two cables from the dish, and both decoders must be connected to the phone (land line)

your sky installer will run all the cables for you, including the supply from the dish and the extra phone point to the new box location.you will recieve a new card for the extra box.

as for the wireless phone reciever it works by sending the phone signal wirelessly this is done by a base unit plugged into a power point at the main phone point and a reciever at location of the second box but you will have to tell the engineer you want this when they call you not all engineers carry them

as for your old box if you can take a cable from your sky dish this box is good for about sixty free channels, ask engineer to do it when he is on site usually only a small fee
