Any idea if this is a premium channel or not?

Not a great start. Old movies but good enough quality. E4HD is looking very good though.

The on screen logo is way to big, very distracting.

Is this MGM HD channel the same (apart from HD) as the MGM channel as on UPC?

IIRC the PQ on that was attrocious with a dirty big DOG in the top corner.

My understanding is that MGM HD is a Joint Venture between MGM & Sky

MGM on UPC is a joint venture between MGM & Liberty Global (UPC parent) ie a different channel

    Is E4HD on Sky?

I'm watching it on a Dreambox. PQ on E4HD is superb atm. They seemed to have scaled back the MGM symbol. It's no bigger than any of the sky ones.

Is this available on the Sky EPG? If so what channel? Is it a sub or FTV?

    Digital On-screen Graphic

You know the annoying logo that broadcasters insist on putting over programs to show you what channel you are watching, as if you didn't already know, a lot of people don't like or agree with them, I would be one of them...

Even more annoying is when the graphic is animated.

Worse again, is channels like GOLD, which fire a banner across the screen before current programme ends to tell you what's next. It's a pity we don't have something like an EPG to tell us what's next....

Virgin 1 is even worse :(

Overall I don't really mind the channel ident as I have gotten so used to it so actually, when it's not there I go into a state of panics not knowing what channel I'm watching :D

I know. DOG's and prompts about what's coming on next. It is very annoying.
