Hi,Hope some of you guys can help.my mother in law lives right on the border with derry,so would be pretty sure that she would get british dtv without a satellite dish.Am I right in thinking that she should pick up a digital signal with an indoor digital aerial or would she probably need an outdoor digital one. Also does she need a set top box,or is it a case of pluging the aerial into the back of her tv?

Sorry for the stupid questions, but not up on the british digital system, other than freeview with a satellite dish.I have access to all the shops in Derry,Maplins,B&Q,Currys, etc. So maybe you can suggest products that will suit.Nothing too expensive, she just wants better pictures and channel five.

    Thanks,
    Gooner

Must have Limavady horizontal outdoor aerial as Sheriff's Mountain not enabled for DTT till 2012. If you have Limavady then you are in business. And a Freeview STB or TV is needed.

Only digital transmitters in range are Limavady for UK Freeview and Holywell Hill for Irish DTT tests.

See this thread for more info on HOLYWELL hill.

UK Freeview boxes are cheap in places like Currys and Argos so its worth a try. Limavady requires a UHF Group C/D or Wideband aerial.
