    try googling unbrick psp
I think stuff like this has happened a good few people, and is happens when something interrupts an update, usually loss of power.

you will need a pandora battery, with that it will allow you to boot into service mode and run a recovery otion. You can get a battery from dealxtreme for about a fiver, but be prepared for delivey to take up to 3-4 weeks.

It'll take no more than 5 minutes to fix your PSP using the Pandora Battery.

well 5 mins will get it fixed, would be more if you want it modded to the latest custom firmware though

dont bother paying someone to do it for ya. Its simple to do.

There is a really good guide how to do it on http://www.pspiso.com . There is links on there too get whatever firmware you want. It doesnt take long to do. Dont pay extra for custom firmware either. Just install the custom firmware yourself. You will have your psp working tonight if ya do it yourself.

The only way he can fix it himself without a pandora is hard mod his battery to become one, then that leaves him with no regular battery.

Whatever you want to put on it, I can either put custom firmware or official firmware, up to you.

    Edit:

Also i'd remove that link if i was you....
