Sounds like a good deal but be aware that the cadence sensor is 30 sterling and not 8 as you said. Cadence spare parts are 8

Buy the bundle (HRM and cadence sensor) for 273 sterling

    Sorry, that what i meant.

Theres a bundle on the same site with the cadence sensor for an extra 8 pounds when purchased as a package. 273 pounds in total

Much better than getting it separate later on

Quick question, what’s the difference between the one you listed and this?

    http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/904/garmin-edge-705-heart-rate-monitor?xPackID=174

Apart from not having the speed cadence, would i need to purchase maps and an SD card separate?

That one you linked is £270 without the maps or £298 with the maps for UK+Ireland (see the "saver pack"). They would probably cost more bought on their own.

+1 on this. I've bought 2 of these and counting*, both from Handtec. Delivered within three days, super stuff.

    * Left number 1 on a plane and never saw it again. God help the poor, as my dad would say. Took ages of saving tenners here and there to justify buying #2.

So i do need to purhcase the maps?

Are there alternative maps i can use on the garmin 705

The maps that come as standard with the Garmin are very basic/poor. But you don't necessarily have to buy Garmin maps though, you could use something like these - I haven't used them myself though so I don't know how they compare to the Garmin maps.

    Thanks for that link doozerie

Would be using the Garmin for off road use and would need topographic maps and don't want to spend an extra €160 on the Garmin Eire Discoverer maps.
