An archaeology game, which was a basically a brick of dirt with a bone inside it, with a mini hammer and chisel to break down said brick of dirt. I was around 14 so I wasn't really impressed, then got frustrated when doing it and ended up chipping my tooth trying to get the fcuking thing out.
There's only so much "It's the thought that counts" can excuse.

hey! You said you really liked that Archieology set! Spent most of Christmas Day playing it even though you got an x-box 360 the same year!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I had an ex buy me a pair of hiking boots. I had never hiked in my life, never talked about hiking and couldn't give a fúck about it. It's just walking to me. And what's worse is they were a size 6. I'm a size 11. I know i have a beautiful face that is hard to look away from but she could have at least glanced down at my feet for a few seconds to suss out the size situation. No wonder i made her the 4th word in this post.

Size 6 you say. She may have been out and guessed it some other way.

You know what they say about the size of a mans shoe :D

I'd say she really wanted them herself :D

I'm a 29 year old red blooded male, so my sister thought it would be a good idea to buy me a Ornament Christmas house. It was super.

A colouring book and crayons, when I was 16 off an apparent "family friend"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭Archeron

Soap on a rope. Me and my three older brothers got one each off an of ours one year when we were kids, and they were all different shapes.

They were all made by "Burley for men" though :)

Who the hell buys kids soap for Christmas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,183 ✭✭✭✭Atavan-Halen

Bodywash or soap is an insulting present IMO. The person is basically saying you need a shower.

Tea tree foot powder was one of the 4 random unmarked presents left under the tree last year... Oh how we laughed when I picked it!

Surely having to get up to touch the screen makes the remote aspect fairly pointless ;)

i meant a touch screen remote like this kameleon-4-in-1-touch-screen-remote-control.jpg
so pointless because you have to look at it to find the buttons as opposed to a conventional remote where you can actually feel the buttons in the dark

I once was given the present of a gun rack....

I didn't even own *a* gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack:confused:

Lily of the valley scented drawer liners a few years ago, which I'm convinced were intended for my gran. These are cloth-tissue sheet things that you put in a drawer (as in a chest of drawers) to keep it nice and fresh.

None of my relatives ever know what to get me, cause they're too lazy to try find out what I like. As a result I have dozens and dozens of hidious pyjamas. I give people money if I'm not sure...everyone likes money.

There are few things more disappointing then opening the wrapping and discovering a pyjamas. I get one every year from the same person.

I bet you're not getting Batman pyjamas, because no-one can be disappointed with Batman pyjamas. Unless someone gets Super Ted pyjamas. That's the only scenario where Batman pyjamas would be disappointing

The ones I get usually have crappy one liners on them. And are pink. A girl can only need so many pyjamas...:o

Maybe I'm weird but i'd love to get pyjamas from someone!! Must remember not to get them for someone else so!

most useless present is probably a box. I've a friend who every year gives me a decorative box. I only have so much stuff that can be categorised to fit into little boxes!
