Flags up as malware. Certainly changes your IE homepage, so who knows what else it might be doing in the background

Proceed with caution. I uninstalled it. No such thing as a free lunch !

Without appearing to be a killjoy, what on earth has this got to do with Satellite TV?

This is the wrong forum, perhaps broadcasting is the correct one. Also, what is the legallity of that site? To the best of my knowledge, the services it provides access to are all designed to be geographically restricted due to rights issues.

Its not very good, to pay 50 euro a year, maybe 20 euro would be ok.....

    :(:(:(

do they have to pay the BBC a fee?

can you get sky tv (sports with this at some stage... )

Having used the iportal servoce for the past month I can assure you that its a brilliant service and my wife and I are really happy with it. The only problem and its so minor is that if you are logged on you cannot sent an email but you can receive or do anything else. I find it a brilliant service particulaly when I want to watch a programme we might have missed on BBC. Also its possible to download a programme and play it on the Creative or other portable players. This is a big plus if travelling a lot. Well worth the few euros I think.

I have been using iportal since it was free and am more than happy to pay the 50 euros ANNUAL fee. That's only a few euros a month and you are not limited to how much you can use it. I had some problems getting connected in the beginning, also the connection was sometimes a little jerky but their customer service is fab, particularly for technophobes like me, and they sorted everything out for me and gave me some tips on connectivity that I never would have known about otherwise. Also, an OAP friend of mine who uses their service tells me that they are now offering a reduction to the over 65's and he only pays 40 euros a year. Tho' i think you have to request it from customer services...... not sure on that one. Incidentally, I looked into the legality of it and as they are not technically broadcasting themselves they are not bound by licensing or broadcast restrictions. I daresay that will change when the likes of the beeb etc decide to close that loophole, but for now there aren't any issues.

Sorry guys have to add this PS! I was just telling my hubby about someone complaining at 50 euros a year. And he pointed out that is less than a euro a week!! How can that be too expensive??????? There is a cost involved in running these things ya know! I would 've been happy to pay that just for catching all of x factor and strictly never mind we now have the likes of wallander etc.
We luurrrrrve iportal in this house, long live iportal!!

I downloaded iportal a few months back when it was still free. I wanted to try it out and I would have been willing to pay eventually. No matter what I tried I couldn't get it to work and the 'fab' customer service never replied to my emails  I removed it from my system and wouldn't be prepared to pay €50 now.
