I ended up getting a Tacoma second hand. Those couple of races were the best fun I've had in the game yet. They're faster than you'ld expect and tail happy but controllable.

Update available this morning. Comes in at 133mb IIRC. Hopefully this will sort out the slowness when connected to the internet

Looking at getting GT5 over the weekend, but being in Spain I want to make sure it has a language option. Can anyone confirm if there is, or does it go by the XMB language?

    Cheers

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

    It uses the XMB language.

You're probably going too fast into the corners. I was like that first. Also, change the driving style in the main game options menu. I've set it to professional and it's much better than the default.

I might give that a go, thanks.

Anyone know a way to play your own music over the game? Apart from a stereo

Cant do it over the XMB nr ca I find a way in the GT music options.

Copy music onto PS3 using external harddrive or usb flash drive. Open the settings menu in GT5 and go to audio opens. Then select User BGM and enable User BGM.

I doubt it. Lots of copies in any shops I have been to over the last day or two.

I bought one and I consider it great value. Build quality is savage, its rock solid when trashing the wheel around

Can I ask if it is absolutely 100% solid? (I am considering ordering one - only got GT5 on Wednesday and a wheel on Thursday which I currently have mounted on a wood contraption I knocked up - the difference when the wheel is 100% held in place is amazing).

    Yes, its very well made.
    Read about it here http://www.avforums.com/forums/gran-turismo-ps3/909166-wheelstand-pro-review-13.html
Thats the site where I first heard of it.

Thanks - I have already read that. My current set up which so far has cost me €0 is absolutely rock solid - the wheel is probably a little close to me and a tiny bit too high - I should be able to move it a little further from me by cutting out a slot on the top. I'd hate to spend over €100 for something that is not absolutely rock solid.

Trust me it is, I couldnt move it if I wanted to. Its a heavy piece of metal.

I did and used once to blitz a b=spec race, fcuk its fast!! I now understand all the moaning about this car not being premium. Of all the low res cars I've seen so far, this really looks like mush. What were they thinking.

Looking at some of the challenges you need older cars like the Countach LP400, the Jensen Intercepter and so on. Where are these cars? I can't see them in the Dealerships or the Used Car market.

What track was it you got it to go that fast ?

I've seen the Jensen in second hand. I'm waiting on the Lambo too!!

I dont know if its random or a set pattern but I've gotten some smoking cars for little or nothing considering what they are. An Altezza touring car fully modded for 30k, Delorean 70k.......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,195 ✭✭✭Mike Litoris

I've been reading GTP forums, the second hand car lot is totally random it seems. Someone posted that the Delorean appeared to 2 million credits, I got it for 70k or so. The Altezza was 30k which was dirt cheap!! Prices seem random or maybe depending on mileage.

Also, there's a bustling trade going on in the second hand cars though the forums. Maybe I picked this up wrong but from what I've read you can name your price when trading as really rare cars will fetch big money, or is it big trades.

On the randomness, I saw an old school GT40 LM car listed in used for a mere 20 million squids and change last night. Just a touch outside of my balance of 20k, so I had to pass.

Yeah :p. Im enjoyin it so far, if i play it for too long though in one go I get board like any other game but other wise its good.

I use the control pad and I find it fine to play so no you dont need a wheel imo.

    HMV for €44.99
