    I'll look at this later.

    Ireland won the Ekiden for 3 or 4 years in a row around that time. The best was when Dublin (full-time) fireman Gerry curtis beat (full-time athlete) Ed Eyestone (USA) in his leg. The US commentators just could not believe it.

    Finally had a look at this. I was a bit disappointed with the excerpt - Focussed all the way on US and the added, more or less as an afterthought......oh, by the way, Ireland won it and showed John Doherty finishing.

    I remember watching this live and again the following year, when Ireland won again. I'd love to get hold of coverage of the full events.

    Pity there isn't more coverage available. Both performances were awesome!!

    Afterthought: It'd be nice if 'someone' could put together videos of world class performances by Irish athletes on one site. Hmmmm...might look into this a bit more....when I find the time.....
