Only took them a year or so after they applied for the licence!

4th January 2010 is hen it launches with the new Sky corporate dog, so I guess all other Sky branded channels will follow suit sometime soon after. Maybe all the Sky Sports channels will change their look on the same day?

I wonder if they will launch a Sky Sports HD4. They need it badly especially on a Sunday.

Says the 6th on the website, anyway........
Its about time really, was it called Xtra originally because it was the only Sky Sports channel where you could have the interactive match choice via the red button, or am I wrong?

    Yes.

Hmmm, it originally said the 4th... now it's the 6th. Wonder why it was changed.

I'm pretty sure a Sky Sports HD 4 will be launched too, it gives Sky bragging rights for having more HD channels for starters. There still is a lot of sport though that is shoved on to red button even with 4 sports channels. Perhaps Sky should launch Sky Sports 5 too?

They should have at least six sports channels imo. It will be a long time before we see it though.

Doesn't exactly make much of a difference.

On a side note, anyone know why the Sky Sports logo changes from Grey to blue and red (and they drop the channel number) during NFL coverage ?

I noticed this myself over the last few weeks. I hope they are not testing it for full time use.

I think its only because of the score bar that the American networks use. If they used their own DOG properly like with other sports they would overlap, so this causes less visual confusion and keeps it all looking the same. They only do it with NFL though.
