    Operación Puerto: case closed

seems like a pile of ****e, over 200 athletes involved, but barely anybody gets done for it??

im guessing alot of the blood was fotballers, and the madrid courts wouldnt allow the blood to be tested because it would "out" them as well as cyclists

    whats your thoughts?

Tend to agree with there Chris,
Rafa Nadal was evasive in answering Paul Kimmages questions about alleged links and both Barca and Real (fascist scum ) players were again alleged to be involved. Best let a few token cyclists take the flak.....

That said I was an Ullrich fan and he deserved to be banned as a result as did Basso..
But it seems a travesty that so many others avoided and continue to avoid sanction.
Looks like Valv Piti will ride on :(

This bit really sticks out, and sticks in the throat

The doping ring was said to involve more than 200 athletes, amongst which 34 cyclists were named. Of these, 15 were later acquitted of any wrongdoings, and three admitted their ties to Fuentes.

Cyclists were just 17% of the total atheltes involved and no other sport came under scrutiny at all. Disgraceful.

Cycling pays for its past sins. Doping has barely registered on the radar of fans from other sports such as football and tennis and I'm sure the governing bodies won't go digging for dirt unless it's stuck in their face.

Too true. I'm sick of the sport being made a scapegoat (not that is isn't without its problems) for all other sports except of course weightlifting :pac:. Soccer is just a no go area. It really sickens my ****
